Mouse SR Features

Mouse SR makes a third-party mouse wheel feel smooth and natural on your Mac. It also puts three useful actions in Finder’s right-click menu.

Smooth scrolling​

Each wheel turn glides instead of jumping. You can adjust how far it moves, how soft it feels, how quickly it speeds up, and the direction.

Trackpads, Magic Mouse, tablets, and other devices that already scroll smoothly stay the same.

Make it yours​

Choose the wheel feel that works for you:

  • Distance for each wheel turn
  • Smoothness and response
  • Acceleration
  • Scrolling direction

You can turn smooth scrolling on or off from the menu bar whenever you need to.

Handy Finder tools​

For setup details and examples, read the Finder right-click tools guide.

Turn on the Finder extension and choose the folders where you want Mouse SR to appear. Then you can:

  • Open in Terminal: open the current or selected folder in Terminal.
  • New TXT or Markdown file: create an empty file without leaving Finder.
  • Copy Path: copy the path of a selected file, folder, or the current folder.

If a file name already exists, Mouse SR automatically chooses another name.

Your data stays on your Mac​

Mouse and file actions happen locally. Mouse input, file contents, and file paths are never uploaded. Finder tools appear only in the folders you choose and their subfolders.

macOS 15 or later​

Mouse SR works on macOS 15 or later. Smooth scrolling needs Accessibility permission in macOS System Settings.
