Mouse SR FAQ

See the Mouse SR Features page for the full feature list, or contact support if you need help.

For Finder actions and setup, read the Finder right-click tools guide.

1. What does Mouse SR do?

Mouse SR makes a third-party mouse wheel scroll smoothly instead of jumping from one notch to the next. It also adds three optional right-click tools to Finder.

2. Which version of macOS do I need?

Mouse SR works on macOS 15 or later.

3. What can I change?

You can change how far each wheel turn moves, how smooth it feels, how quickly it speeds up, and the scrolling direction. You can also turn smooth scrolling on or off from the menu bar.

4. Will it change my trackpad or Magic Mouse?

No. Trackpads, Magic Mouse, tablets, and other devices that already scroll smoothly keep working as they do now.

5. Why does Mouse SR need Accessibility permission?

macOS asks for this permission when an app needs to work with scroll input. Mouse SR needs it to make a third-party mouse wheel scroll smoothly. You can grant or remove the permission any time in System Settings. Follow the installation and setup guide for step-by-step instructions.

6. What can the Finder tools do?

The Finder extension can open a folder in Terminal, create an empty TXT or Markdown file, and copy the path of a selected file, folder, or the current folder.

7. Where will the Finder tools appear?

Only in the folders you choose in Mouse SR and their subfolders. The extension does not ask for unrestricted access to your whole disk.

8. Does Mouse SR upload my mouse input or files?

No. Mouse input, file contents, and file paths stay on your Mac and are not uploaded by the App.

9. Is there a free trial?

Mouse SR Pro includes a free seven-day trial. Start it in the app; it does not renew automatically and is not a subscription.

10. My scrolling is still jumping. What should I check?

Make sure smooth scrolling is turned on from the menu bar and that Mouse SR has Accessibility permission in macOS System Settings. If your mouse already scrolls smoothly, Mouse SR leaves it unchanged.

11. How do I turn on the Finder tools?

Open Mouse SR settings, turn on the Finder extension in macOS extension settings, and choose the folders where you want the tools to appear. You can change the extension and folders later. Follow the installation and setup guide for step-by-step instructions.

12. I didn’t receive my license email. What should I do?

Your license email may arrive separately from the payment receipt. First, check the email address used at checkout and your spam or junk folder. If you still cannot find it, open License Recovery and use your purchase email to access the Dodo Payments customer portal, where you can view the original license key in your order.

Recovery does not create a new license or use another device activation. If you still cannot find your key, contact support with your purchase email and order reference. Please do not send any card information.

13. How can I contact support?

Email [email protected] with your macOS version and a short description of the issue.
