How to scan saved footage
- Transfer or save a supported trail-camera video to the iPhone, iPad, or Mac running MoFind.
- Import the video and draw a detection region around the area that matters.
- Choose the time range and sensitivity, then start the motion scan.
- Review the resulting timestamps and thumbnails, and preview the events that may contain useful activity.
Important limitations
Moving leaves and lighting can create events
Wind, shadows, rain, insects, timestamps, and camera movement can change pixels. Adjust the region and sensitivity to reduce irrelevant events.
MoFind detects change, not animal species
The event list identifies likely motion. It does not classify or identify the person, animal, or object responsible for the change.
Check video compatibility
General support includes MP4, M4V, and MOV using H.264 or H.265 when the device can decode the file. macOS can process more common formats through compatibility handling.
