Image conversion failed​

  • Please check if the image format is a supported.
  • Due to security restrictions on Mac, please go to Settings > Save Directory > Change Save Directory, select and open the directory to ensure the conversion works properly.
  • Make sure the save directory has write permission.

What image formats can I convert to WebP?​

Image2WebP accepts JPEG/JPG, PNG, GIF, HEIC, BMP, TIFF, HEIF, AVIF, PSD, and RAW image types supported by macOS as WebP inputs. Animated GIF input is kept animated in WebP output.

What image formats are supported for conversion to AVIF format?​

Image2WebP accepts JPEG/JPG, PNG, HEIC, BMP, TIFF, HEIF, WebP, PSD, and RAW image types supported by macOS as AVIF inputs. GIF is not accepted in Image to AVIF mode.

Which other image formats are supported for conversion?​

Image2WebP also supports converting AVIF to JPG/PNG images, as well as converting WebP to JPG/PNG images.

Can I add an entire folder or pause a large batch?​

Yes. Drag and drop or select images and folders to build a batch. Pausing prevents new files from starting; files already converting finish first. Resume continues with the remaining queue. Duplicate paths are not added again through the file picker or drag and drop.

The free version converts up to 10 files per batch. Lifetime Pro removes that batch limit.

Does it support drag and drop images?​

Yes. You can drag and drop individual images, multiple images, or folders.

Can Image2WebP preserve EXIF metadata?​

Yes. Lifetime Pro can preserve EXIF metadata such as camera settings and GPS location. Turn this on only when you want that information copied to converted files, especially before sharing images publicly.

Where are converted images saved?​

Choose a fixed save directory in Settings, save files beside their originals, or ask for a save location before converting. Lifetime Pro can move each original file to the macOS Trash after its conversion succeeds. This is optional and requires confirmation.

Does Image2WebP upload my images?​

No. Image decoding and encoding run locally on your Mac; the conversion code does not upload image files. Internet access is still needed for App Store download and in-app purchase operations.

Can I start a conversion from Finder?​

Yes. Select an image in Finder, right-click it, choose Open With, and select Image2WebP.

Which macOS versions are supported?​

Image2WebP requires macOS 14.0 or later.

Is Lifetime Pro a subscription?​

No. The app offers one-time Personal and Family Sharing Lifetime Pro purchases. Available products and local prices are shown by the App Store inside the app.

Why is the converted image the wrong orientation or color?​

Update to the latest App Store version first. The current conversion paths normalize image orientation and preserve color-profile information where the output format supports it. If the issue remains, contact support with the source format, conversion mode, and your macOS version.
